Before using the baby bottle
Please note that our baby bottles feature an air valve inside the teat to prevent a vacuum from forming inside the bottle. Make sure the valve is open by carefully pulling it.
Our teats may feature one or two air valves. Both of these variants will work the same and both will feature a double anti-colic system.
The clip below will show you how to open a teat with two valves. The procedure is much the same for teats featuring only one valve. Don’t forget to wash your hands before handling the teat!
How do I clean and sterilize the baby bottle?
We recommend hand washing the bottle. If it is cleaned in a dishwasher (top rack, 55° C/130° F), take care to ensure it is not washed in proximity to dishes that contain foods such as olive oil, tomato sauce or other colorful foods. This may discolor the plastic of the baby bottle or cause the printed measurement scale to wear off.
Please note, we do not advise boiling our products at maximum power, as extreme temperatures may cause damage. Boiling them too often, or for extended periods of time, may also cause damage to the materials, or affect how they fit together. Your new baby bottle has already been sterilized during the manufacture process. If you still want to take steps to sterilize it further, we recommend bringing a generous amount of water to a boil, switching off the burner, disassembling the bottle and putting the parts in the hot water for 30 seconds. Then, pour out the water and let the now sterilized parts cool down before handling.
My baby doesn’t like using baby bottles, how do I know Herobility’s baby bottle will be any different?
Herobility’s teat is unlike any other, specially designed to resemble a mother’s breast. When a mother breastfeeds her baby, she may press her breast slightly with her hand to make it flatter, sometimes called the “hamburger grip”. This lets the baby latch on easier to the breast and makes feeding easier. We’ve heard that many of our customers have found Herobility’s baby bottle the easiest way to transition from breast feeding thanks to the uniquely designed teat.
I bought a Herobility baby bottle, and the teat is collapsing into the bottle when the baby is drinking. What’s going wrong?
The vent inside the teat has gotten closed up. This is easily fixed by following the instructions on this page under the heading “Before using the baby bottle”.
